Plastic Binding
Plastic binding is a process where plastic material is used to hold the sheets
of a document together. It is an inexpensive and durable method of binding.
There are various types of plastic binders available on the market. Plastic comb binders bind documents quickly and economically, making the material lie flat without any bulges. Plastic comb binding makes use of binding supplies of diverse colors and sizes, and also allows you to alter the document at any time.
Plastic coil binding machines employ a sturdy yet supple coil to bind the material together. The coil is quickly woven into the punches. The end result is a compact, secure document that looks presentable and professional. On opening, the pages will lie flat.
Heavy-duty plastic binders are apt for large-scale binding requirements. They save the company both time and money.

PLASTIC
COMB BINDINGAlso know as ' GBC Binding ': An efficient, economical
choice for reports, sales presentations, training manuals, cookbooks and more.
Documents will lie flat and pages can fold back. The binding process is simple:
first punch the pages; then insert the comb into the machine and pull the handle
to spread the comb open. Lay the punched pages into the comb and pull the handle
to close the comb. Plastic Comb bound can be easily disassembled and reassembled
without damage. Machines can be purchased as either a combination punch and comb-bind binding
system ; or as two separate machines:
a punch and comb
opener. The combination plastic
binding system is for low to mid volume use in offices, print shops, schools,
churches, etc. While the punch and comb
opener as separate machines allows are recommended for greater punch capacity
and increased production. Each plastic comb diameter binds a maximum
number of pages and is purchased based on the size of the document to be bound.
PLASTIC COIL BINDFlexible plastic spiral coil gives a new look to professional documents, proposals, reports,
calendars and more. This method is not only great for documents that need to
lie flat but also enables pages to fold back. Coil binding involves a simple
3-step process: punch the pages; insert the coil; snip/crimp the coil ends. Coil
is spun onto document using either a roller : the
punched edge and started coil are leaned against a spinning roller, or mandrel: punched
pages lay flat, coil slides over mandrel, wheel spins coil onto document.
Machines can be purchased as either a binding
system that
combinds a punch and coil inserter into one machine, or as two separate machines:
a punch and coil
inserter. The combination coil
binding system is for low to mid volume use in offices, print shops, schools,
churches, etc. The punch and coil
inserter as separate machines allows for greater punch capacity per lift
and increased production for larger jobs.
Each plastic coil pitch and diameter binds a maximum number of sheets and is purchased based on the number of sheets in the document to be bound.
ROLLABINDA plastic ring binding system that enables pages to be removed and added at will without undoing the bind due to an open-ended slot punch similar to that of a card file. For Rollabind systems, click here, and for Rollabind punches, click here. Rollabind Rings are available in a variety of sizes and colors and can bind up to 1 in thick.
VELOBINDVelobind offers a professional look without staples, glue, or chemicals and makes it easy to achieve attractive, polished results. In a quick two-step process, punched documents are secured between two thin plastic strips. The finished product is easy to stack, mail, and file. Widely used in the legal profession for documents that require a measure of security. Starter systems bend the pins of the 4-pin binding spine to create a secure bind. The Quickbind systems use a hot-knife to remove excess pin from the 11-pin binding spine to create the bind. All Velobind systems can be found here.
HEAVY DUTY PUNCHESPurchasing a punch and a closer/opener/inserter as separate machines allows for greater punch capacity per lift and increased production for larger jobs, as one person can punch while another binds. Additionally, on some punches the dies are interchangeable. That is, the die set for punching one type of hole can be removed and the die for a different binding method (wire, plastic coil, plastic comb, etc) can be inserted.
OPENERS & COIL INSERTERSWhether you're looking to increase production by separating the binding from the punching step or wanting to extend the use of your current machine by adding another binder, you'll find all a the following pages: comb openers, and coil inserters.
